Wil Shipley’s review of “Fallout: New Vegas”

Wil Shipley, has an interesting review of Fallout 3: New Vegas…

Now, I am only about half way through Fallout 3 New Vegas… So I can’t vouch for the accuracy of the review…

I certainly agree that the questing system is aggravating… But it’ll be real interesting to see if the end game is as Wil states…

I wanted to love Fallout: New Vegas. I loved the original Fallout, and Fallout 3. I didn’t much like Fallout 2, which, in what may or may not be a coincidence, happens have the same designer as New Vegas, and share a lot of the same problems.

New Vegas tries to be way too big, so you end up in a world that’s physically huge but emotionally totally empty. Each town you encounter after the first doesn’t feel like it has any heart; it’s too easy to see the characters as cardboard standees with word balloons over their heads. There’s no there there.

Dragon Age: Redemption is a six-part web series set in the world of the Bioware RPG Dragon Age. The series tells the story of Tallis, an Elvish assassin, who gets a last chance at redemption when she’s sent to capture a rogue Qunari mage intent on wreaking havoc in the world. The series launches October 11th.

Bishoujo version of Mass Effect’s blue-skinned asari Liara T’Soni.

Evidently Bioware is working with Kotobukiya on a mold of Mass Effect‘s blue-skinned asari Liara T’Soni. That’s a little surprising… But what’s more amazing is the fan reaction. Overall, it seems to be very mixed, with a lot of people complaining about the “Anime” proportions of the statue.

Stop me, if I am wrong… But isn’t that the idea of a Bishoujo model?

But wait, do you know what it means?

Bishōjo (美少女?, literally “beautiful young girl”, also spelled bishoujo) is a Japanese term used to refer to young and pretty girls, usually below university age. Bishōjo is not listed as a word in the prominent Japanese dictionary Kōjien. A variant named biyōjo (美幼女?) refers to a girl before the age of adolescence.

So, I think the statue is perfect for the Bishōjo market. Yes, the model looks younger, and certainly mets someone’s requirement for pretty / beautiful young girl…

Ayreon’s musical style derives mostly from heavy metal and progressive rock, but combines them with genres like folk, classical and electronica. The majority of Ayreon’s albums are dubbed “rock operas” because they contain complex storylines featuring a host of characters, usually represented by a unique vocalist.
