{"id":6317,"date":"2011-08-16T09:16:28","date_gmt":"2011-08-16T13:16:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.schollnick.net\/wordpress\/?page_id=6317"},"modified":"2013-09-06T08:56:05","modified_gmt":"2013-09-06T12:56:05","slug":"indigo-survey-plugin","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.schollnick.net\/wordpress\/home-automation\/indigo-v5-plugins\/indigo-survey-plugin\/","title":{"rendered":"Indigo Survey Plugin"},"content":{"rendered":"<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>[toc=&#8221;2,3,4&#8243; title=&#8221;Table of contents&#8221;]<\/td>\n<td align=\"right\">Donate to help continue the development<br \/>\nof the Indigo Survey Plugin<br \/>\n[paypal-donation purpose=&#8221;Software Donation&#8221; reference=&#8221;Survey&#8221;]<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2>What is the Survey Plugin?<\/h2>\n<p>The Survey plugin will go through your Indigo Devices, and &#8220;Ping&#8221; (Status Request) any devices that support the Status Request command.\u00c2\u00a0 This allows you to get a survey of all your devices, and ensure that they are online easily.<\/p>\n<p>The idea for this plugin occurred when I was trying to map out our new circuit breaker box.\u00c2\u00a0 It while we were able to identify some of the circuits easily, there were 6 that were non-obvious\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6.\u00c2\u00a0 So I thought about the problem, and realized that if I left Indigo running, I would be able to perform status requests, to see what devices did not respond.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-weight: bold;\">To Install:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>1) Open the &#8220;Add to Plugin Directory&#8221; folder, and take the Survey.indigoPlugin and place it into<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\/Library\/Application Support\/Perceptive Automation\/Indigo 5\/Plugins<\/p>\n<p>2) Restart the Indigo 5 Server<\/p>\n<p>3) Open Indigo&#8217;s Preferences, choose Interfaces, choose Interface Options.<\/p>\n<p>4) <strong><em>Ensure that &#8220;Report Error on all NAKs regardless of firmware version&#8221; is checked.<\/em><\/strong> <em><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>If this option is not selected, then the plugin will not be able to detect the failed NAK.<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Basic Usage:<\/h2>\n<p>The Plugin does not have a Web Interface, and does not store any state information.<\/p>\n<p>1) Choose the Survey Plugin, from the Plugin menu, and choose &#8220;Run a survey&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>2) Open the Indigo log, and see what devices where not seen by the plugin.<\/p>\n<h2>Versions for Download<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.perceptiveautomation.com\/userforum\/viewtopic.php?f=33&amp;t=8804\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to see plugin download links.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re having an issue, please let me know. \u00c2\u00a0Please email me, and I will be happy to aid in any way possible&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0Please feel free to offer suggestions for Feature Enhancements, or new features through email as well..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[toc=&#8221;2,3,4&#8243; title=&#8221;Table of contents&#8221;] Donate to help continue the development of the Indigo Survey Plugin [paypal-donation purpose=&#8221;Software Donation&#8221; reference=&#8221;Survey&#8221;] What is the Survey Plugin?
