title=&#8221;Table of contents&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3>The Automatic Way (Indigo v5)<\/h3>\n<p>Download the <a class=\"StrictlyAutoTagAnchor\" href=\"http:\/\/www.schollnick.net\/wordpress\/tag\/indigo\" title=\"View all articles about Indigo here\" >Indigo<\/a> <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Backup Plugin<\/strong>, and install it.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.perceptiveautomation.com\/userforum\/viewtopic.php?f=33&amp;t=8804\">Download Link<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p><strong>What is the Backup Plugin?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The Backup plugin will literally backup your <a class=\"StrictlyAutoTagAnchor\" href=\"http:\/\/www.schollnick.net\/wordpress\/tag\/indigo\" title=\"View all articles about Indigo here\" >Indigo<\/a> directory (\/Library\/Application Support\/<a class=\"StrictlyAutoTagAnchor\" href=\"http:\/\/www.schollnick.net\/wordpress\/tag\/indigo\" title=\"View all articles about Indigo here\" >Indigo<\/a> 5), and store it in a time\/date stamped zip file, stored in ~\/Documents\/<a class=\"StrictlyAutoTagAnchor\" href=\"http:\/\/www.schollnick.net\/wordpress\/tag\/indigo\" title=\"View all articles about Indigo here\" >Indigo<\/a> Backup.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Currently, this is a manual process.\u00c2\u00a0 Choose &#8220;Perform a Manual Backup&#8221; from the Plugin Menu, or use a Trigger Action to cause a backup to occur.\u00c2\u00a0 If there is interest, I may add a schedule feature to the plugin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">To restore the data on a computer&#8230;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Unzip the backup file in a temporary directory<\/li>\n<li>Copy from the unzipped contents ~\/Documents\/<strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> Backup\/Library\/Application Support\/<strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> 5 to \u00c2\u00a0\/Library\/Application Support\/<strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> 5<\/li>\n<li>Install the Latest version of <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>If this is a different computer, you may have to install the USB drivers for your PowerLinc, or other devices (e.g. W8000RF32, etc).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">(Re-Installing <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> helps ensure that the permissions in LaunchD, etc, are correctly restored&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0)<\/div>\n<p><strong>Installation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00c2\u00a01) Open the &#8220;Add to Plugin Directory&#8221; folder, and take the Backup.indigoPlugin and place it into<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">\u00c2\u00a0\/Library\/Application Support\/Perceptive Automation\/<strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> 5\/Plugins<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">2) Restart the <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> 5 Server<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">3) After the <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> server restarts, the Plugin will be useable.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Uninstall Instructions<\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">To Uninstall, just remove the &#8220;<strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> Backup.Plugin&#8221; from the Plugins folder, and restart the <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> Server.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/h3>\n<h3>The Manual Way to Backup (Indigo v4)<\/h3>\n<p>The easiest method to back up &amp; uninstall your <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> (version 4) configuration to another machine is as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Backup the \/Library\/Application Support\/Perceptive Automation\/. \u00c2\u00a0The method I suggest is to use the built-in compression tools, by going to the \/Library\/Application Support folder, and right clicking on Perceptive Automation. \u00c2\u00a0Then choose Compress &#8220;Perceptive Automation&#8221;.\n<ul>\n<li>One issue with this method, is that you need to back up and migrate any external AppleScripts that you use with your automation. \u00c2\u00a0I have created a folder in ~\/Username\/Documents\/<strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> Scripts \u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0 that has all of my external scripts&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0Make sure to also copy any AppleScripts, and place them in the same place on the new computer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Take the zip file, and transfer it to the new computer, along with the latest <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> Installer.<\/li>\n<li>decompress the Perceptive Automation folder into the \/Library\/Application Support folder on the new computer<\/li>\n<li>Install <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> on the new computer.<\/li>\n<li>If you have an W800Rf32A, you will need to install the KeySpan Driver (or equivalent)&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0<strong>(This assumes you have the RS232 version)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If you use an 2413 or 2412, you will need the FTDI web site&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0The <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> Online homepage has the web link (See http:\/\/www.perceptiveautomation.com\/indigo\/help\/html\/00200_interfaceSetup.html ), or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ftdichip.com\/Drivers\/VCP.htm\">click here<\/a>&#8230;\n<ul>\n<li>The Latest version that I have seen is v2.2.14 from October 21, 2009.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Start <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> on the new machine, and File -&gt; Open and choose your <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> Database.<\/li>\n<li>Check your preferences, and make sure that everything is running correctly&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>I have used this process multiple times, and have not run into any real issues&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>Uninstalling Indigo<\/h2>\n<p>Alternatively, to manually Uninstall <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Remove the <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> Application from your Applications folder (eg. <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> 3.app , <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> 4.app)<\/li>\n<li>Remove the <strong class='StrictlyAutoTagBold'>Indigo<\/strong> Folders from \/Library &#8211;&gt; Application Support &#8211;&gt; Perceptive Automation &#8211;&gt; <strong>Indigo X (X being 2, 4 or 5)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Remove from \/System &#8211;&gt; Library &#8211;&gt; Extensions &#8211;&gt; IndigoOverrides.kext<\/li>\n<li>Remove from the Preferences folder ( ~\/Library &#8211;&gt; LaunchAgents &#8211;&gt; com.perceptiveautomation.IndigoServer2.plist \u00c2\u00a0)<\/li>\n<li>Remove from the ~\/Library &#8211;&gt;
