With this special offer, I present to you SeanAdams Insteon Health Script… \u00c2\u00a0The\u00c2\u00a0Script is available here: http:\/\/www.seanadams.com\/ha\/insteon_health\/<\/p>\n
First, You need a 2412U or 2413U powerline modem for this to work, a 2414U will not work. \u00c2\u00a0Second, this is a currently a command line application… \u00c2\u00a0So you will have to use the terminal application to run the script… \u00c2\u00a0( Go –> Utilities –> Terminal).<\/p>\n
For command-line beginners here is how to run it:<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 save the script in your home directory
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Quit Indigo
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 open Terminal
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 type “sudo cpan -i Device::SerialPort” to install a required module
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 type “chmod +x insteon_health.pl” to make the script executable
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 type “.\/insteon_health.pl” to run the script
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 follow the instructions to generate your device list
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 type “.\/insteon_health.pl” to run it again<\/p>\n
The astericks (*) are equivalent to “pings”, the lower the number, the better. \u00c2\u00a0A dash (-) appears to be “unable to reach”, or “Timeout”.<\/p>\n
Currently, you will want to edit out the device listings for X10 devices, TriggerLincs, RemoteLincs, and Insteon Motion Sensors. \u00c2\u00a0The script does not handle X10 devices, and the other RF based Insteon devices probably won’t be awake when the script runs, and thus will cause a poor result for those devices.<\/p>\n
