I just want a friend&#8230;(Emul.kext)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sorry, couldn&#8217;t resist the bad joke&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>But what is &#8220;EMUL.Kext&#8221;? \u00c2\u00a0It&#8217;s in the extensions directory, and I can&#8217;t place it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Well, the only references I can find to this is EMUL.Kext, appears to be part of the\u00c2\u00a0EarthMate Userland Library. \u00c2\u00a0The EarthMate User Library provides access to the usb device via libusb and POSIX threads. Target operating systems include Mac OS X, BSD, and Linux. (via <a href=\"http:\/\/developer.berlios.de\/projects\/emul\/\">BerliOS Developer: Project Summary &#8211; EarthMate Userland Library<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Now in English, this allows the Earthlink GPS devices, to be seen by the Macintosh, Linux, and BSD based OSes. \u00c2\u00a0Presumably for GPS devices, or to allow the GPS to be updated using EarthMate&#8217;s updaters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sorry, couldn&#8217;t resist the bad joke&#8230;.
