Sneaking up on you?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have a issue with Sleep Apnea, I was diagnosed around 2002 or so&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0For those, unfamiliar with Sleep Apnea, Sleep apnea (or Sleep apnoea) is sleep disorder that causes issues with the Airway closing. \u00c2\u00a0So they may stop breathing for short periods, often for 10 seconds or more. This means that 3-4 breaths are missed and as a result of this, those affected are often tired during the day.<\/p>\n<p>I highly recommend that if you use a CPAP machine, and you are unhappy with your mask. \u00c2\u00a0Don&#8217;t suffer through continuing to use the mask&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0Check out a replacement. \u00c2\u00a0For the two months or so, I&#8217;ve been quite tired but I attributed it to the colds that have been running through the house&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0But I just had my CPAP device checked out, and swapped out for a better mask, and I am feeling a heck of a lot better&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>I believe that the mask that I changed to last year, was not as sturdy as my previous one, and the airseal has been steadily degrading&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0Since a CPAP device (Constant Positive Air Pressure), uses this air pressure to keep the airway open, if the airseal was sealing properly then I would not have been getting the full benefit of the treatment..<\/p>\n<p>Why is this a concern? \u00c2\u00a0Well, it leads to Sleep deprivation&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0Sounds innocent, doesn&#8217;t it? \u00c2\u00a0But Sleep deprivation can be devasting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>aching muscles<\/li>\n<li>dizziness and nausea<\/li>\n<li>dry mouth<\/li>\n<li>hallucinations<\/li>\n<li>hand tremors<\/li>\n<li>headaches<\/li>\n<li>increased blood pressure<\/li>\n<li>increased risk for diabetes<\/li>\n<li>increased risk of fibromyalgia<\/li>\n<li>irritability<\/li>\n<li>memory lapses or loss<\/li>\n<li>nystagmus (rapid involuntary rhythmic eye movement)<\/li>\n<li>obesity<\/li>\n<li>slowed word recall<\/li>\n<li>temper tantrums in children<\/li>\n<li>yawning<\/li>\n<li>symptoms similar to\u00c2\u00a0Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD) and\u00c2\u00a0psychosis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So please pay attention if you feel tired, and don&#8217;t believe that being tired is okay&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0It&#8217;s not&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have a issue with Sleep Apnea, I was diagnosed around 2002 or so&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0For those, unfamiliar with Sleep Apnea, Sleep apnea (or Sleep apnoea) is sleep disorder that causes issues with the Airway closing. \u00c2\u00a0So they may stop breathing for short periods, often for 10 seconds or more.
