{"id":2852,"date":"2010-03-26T11:40:19","date_gmt":"2010-03-26T15:40:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.schollnick.net\/wordpress\/?p=2852"},"modified":"2010-03-26T11:40:19","modified_gmt":"2010-03-26T15:40:19","slug":"audit-finds-vulnerability-of-energystar-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.schollnick.net\/wordpress\/2010\/03\/audit-finds-vulnerability-of-energystar-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Audit Finds Vulnerability of EnergyStar Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Government and it&#8217;s agencies are suppose to be trustworthy and have our best interests at heart, but the lack of oversight is astounding! \u00c2\u00a0Sometimes, it&#8217;s due to overwork, sometimes, due to general incompetence&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>But, evidently the Energy Star &amp; related programs, have been approving devices with little oversight and no much more than a casual glance at the application.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Does a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153gasoline-powered alarm clock\u00e2\u20ac\u009d qualify for the EnergyStar label, the government stamp of approval for an energy-saving product?<\/p>\n<p>Like more than a dozen other bogus products submitted for approval since last June by Congressional auditors posing as companies, it easily secured the label, according to a Congressional report to be issued Friday.
