{"id":3032,"date":"2010-04-14T12:19:46","date_gmt":"2010-04-14T16:19:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.schollnick.net\/wordpress\/?p=3032"},"modified":"2010-04-14T12:19:46","modified_gmt":"2010-04-14T16:19:46","slug":"road-film-with-fighting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.schollnick.net\/wordpress\/2010\/04\/road-film-with-fighting\/","title":{"rendered":"Road Film (With Fighting)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now Eyrie Productions (http:\/\/www.eyrie.net) has a mixed track record regarding their Fan Fiction. \u00c2\u00a0Often, it&#8217;s good, but they do so often cross the line into Mary Sue-isms with their characters.<\/p>\n<p>That isn&#8217;t necessarily bad, but it&#8217;s not great. \u00c2\u00a0After all, Ensign Newbie shouldn&#8217;t be able to take over from Captain Kirk, at least not within the first chapter.. But\u00c2\u00a0sometimes that&#8217;s just what you want to read&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>They just put out a Top Gear fan fiction&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0Yes, the BBC Car show, now has a fan fiction based on it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>And you know what, it&#8217;s pretty darn good&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0Sure it&#8217;s in script form, but that works, after all they are writing about a TV show, and it just works..<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times; line-height: normal; font-size: small;\"><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Hammond:<\/strong> I just love that your car&#8217;s satnav system knows where all the military bases are.<\/p>\n<p><strong>May:<\/strong> It&#8217;s Klingon. These things are important to them.<\/p>\n<p><tt><strong>Ext. Day. Coast Road.<\/strong> The two cars make good time, their drivers having thrown all regard for the traffic laws to the wind.<\/tt><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hammond (VO):<\/strong> This was actually a fair test of our cars&#8217; capabilities in a genuine crisis situation. The Lamborghini was fast, agile, with superior roadholding qualities; the bigger, heavier KMW was actually a little bit\u00c2\u00a0<em>faster<\/em>, and its build quality gave it a very reassuring sense of indestructibility. And the Aztech was broken and useless.<\/p>\n<p><tt>The cars round a corner. In the distance a group of EARTHFORCE MARINES can be seen setting up a portable roadblock.<\/tt><\/p>\n<p><tt><strong>Int. Day. Lamborghini cabin.<\/strong> CLARKSON looks aghast.<\/tt><\/p>\n<p><strong>Clarkson:<\/strong> Uh-oh. Guys?<\/p>\n<p><tt><strong>Int. Day. KMW cabin.<\/strong> MAY sets his jaw.<\/tt><\/p>\n<p><strong>May:<\/strong> Tuck in behind me. Whatever happens, don&#8217;t stop.<\/p>\n<p><tt>He puts his foot down. HAMMOND blinks at him in astonishment.<\/tt><\/p>\n<p><tt><strong>Int. Day. KMW cabin.<\/strong> HAMMOND hides behind the dash, occasionally glancing at MAY as if he thinks he's gone insane.<\/tt><\/p>\n<p><strong>May:<\/strong> (shouting in Klingon)<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Subtitle:<\/strong> Honorless dogs! Make way for Captain Slow!<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><tt><\/tt><tt><strong>Ext. Day. Coast Road.<\/strong> The LAMBO slides into a tight trailing formation behind the KMW, which is accelerating toward the roadblock. A MARINE holds up his hand for the KMW to halt, but is ignored.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Int. Day. KMW cabin.<\/strong> MAY, a furious scowl on his face, drives straight toward the roadblock -<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ext. Day.
