This issue is not, as is commonly reported, that the metal case of the Mac Pro impedes the signal. In fact, the antennae are hooked up incorrectly in many of the units.<\/p>\n<p>A number of Mac Pros were shipped with the antennas incorrectly connected which led to many users to have Bluetooth connection problems. They were incorrectly connected as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Antenna &#8216;1&#8217; connects to the top connector of the AirPort module.<\/li>\n<li>Antenna &#8216;2&#8217; remains unconnected.<\/li>\n<li>Antenna &#8216;3&#8217; connects to the bottom connector of the AirPort module.<\/li>\n<li>Antenna &#8216;BT&#8217; connects to the Bluetooth module.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While the wireless signal worked fine this way, Bluetooth performance was seriously hampered.<\/p>\n<p>Reconnect the cables as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Antenna &#8216;1&#8217; connects to the Bluetooth module (if present).<\/li>\n<li>Antenna &#8216;2&#8217; connects to the upper airport module (if present).<\/li>\n<li>Antenna &#8216;3&#8217; connects to the lower airport module (if present).<\/li>\n<li>Antenna &#8216;BT&#8217; remains unconnected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Bitstream Charter', Times, serif; line-height: 19px; font-size: 13px;\">The following Guide has step by step pictures, documenting the process\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guides.macrumors.com\/Adding_Bluetooth_and_Wireless_to_a_Mac_Pro\">Adding Bluetooth and Wireless to a Mac Pro &#8211; Mac Guides<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It turns out that the Magic Mouse is fine, it&#8217;s the Mac Pro that has problems.
