{"id":5923,"date":"2011-04-10T13:02:06","date_gmt":"2011-04-10T17:02:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.schollnick.net\/wordpress\/?p=5923"},"modified":"2011-04-11T19:47:24","modified_gmt":"2011-04-11T23:47:24","slug":"thoughts-on-the-ipad-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.schollnick.net\/wordpress\/2011\/04\/thoughts-on-the-ipad-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Thoughts on the iPad 2&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, I have had the iPad 2 for about a week now, and I thought that I would document some of my thoughts on it.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s changed from iPad 1?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The tapered edge makes it feel a lot thinner, but it also makes using the power button, slider switch, and volumes controls a little bit harder compared to the relatively flat edges of iPad 1<\/li>\n<li>The Speaker is much better. \u00c2\u00a0But Stereo Speakers would be even better&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Faster Processor, is obvious in almost every application I have tried. \u00c2\u00a0It is almost impossible to find a slow application&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Faster graphics performance, once again, is almost immediately noticeable. \u00c2\u00a0Not only in speed, but also in sharper graphics.<\/li>\n<li>The front &amp; rear video cameras.<\/li>\n<li>Air Play works noticeable better with iPad 2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Now this does not mean that iPad 1 was lacking (other than maybe in the video cameras). \u00c2\u00a0The iPad 2 is a evolutionary improvement of the iPad 1&#8230;<\/div>\n<div>Is there still room for improvements? \u00c2\u00a0Of course&#8230;.<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Stereo Speakers would be nice<\/li>\n<li>Even faster processors<\/li>\n<li>Better Cameras, the resolution is decent, but they are not the best mobile cameras . \u00c2\u00a0The iPhone 4 cameras easily beat the iPad 2 cameras&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>More storage compared to iPad 1.. \u00c2\u00a0The iPad 2 still comes in 16\/32\/64 Gb, it would have been nice to be 32\/64\/96&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>But I personally think that the iPad 2 is as light &amp; thin as is reasonably possible without the risk of launching it halfway across the room by accident&#8230;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Can it be smaller? \u00c2\u00a0Lighter? \u00c2\u00a0Sure. \u00c2\u00a0There have been rumors of Carbon Fiber bodies, and other exotic manufacturing methods&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0But I would definitely need to examine this new form factors&#8230; \u00c2\u00a0There is a hugh difference between iPad 1 &amp; iPad 2 with weight and long term ability to carry it without strain. \u00c2\u00a0The two almost feels like it&#8217;s full of helium, it&#8217;s that light&#8230;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I don&#8217;t foresee Apple being able to reduce the weight that dramatically again without amazing effort&#8230;.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, I have had the iPad 2 for about a week now, and I thought that I would document some of my thoughts on it.
